Oranges of Autumn

Credit: Ratna Pochiraju

One chilly morning
Sunrays illuminated
The divinity
In the graceful death of leaves
Cherishing autumn’s love-gift.

Note: The poem is written in Tanka style with 5-7-5-7-7 syllables in each line respectively.

  1. Autumn colors are beautiful and morning sun-rays glistening through them is mesmerizing. You have presented it so brilliantly in these lines! And the underlying deeper thoughts they convey is superb.

    1. Thank you, Jyoti. :) You could say I was inspired by a poem in Gitanjali by Tagore.

  2. Is the nature trying to tell us that even in death one can be graceful with the touch of divinity?
Only 4 lines and so much of thoughts as reflected in each word that is chosen so well!
