Nomadic Life

Credit: Ratna Pochiraju

He paddled to a side
On the wet, slippery road
Drenched with rain
In the month of winter

The old shabby coat
The battered hat
The worn-out shoes
And the even older cycle-
None he owned
Yet to him they belonged
Just as he belonged
To the path that never ended

The ride wouldn’t wait
The journey wouldn’t stop
The man wouldn’t pause;
Not unless
The path decided his fate
And put him to rest; in peace.

I especially loved this line - "..Yet
    to him they belonged
    Just as he belonged
To the path that never ended"

  7. Isn't that the song of every soul. The body is not ours, the relationships are as much ours as much we are theirs. WE still walk this life and borrow the breaths for life, from death. Brilliant one!

  8. Another masterpiece Srivalli.
You've captured the essence of Bhagvat Geeta in these few lines-detachment from the material world, focusing on ones actions and not the results and complete surrender of self in the care of the Divine. Like your flute post, this one touches me deeply.
    Thank you.

  11. Wow so beautifully described the journey of life... In which we own nothing.. Yet we must continue to walk the endless path... Till we rest in peace... Very beautiful lines. I simply love each and every poem of yours :)
