Sweetheart

The image is taken from Pixabay

Sweeter than honey, your words flowed through my veins,
Wilder than the abandoned grass, my love grew,
Evergreen, it flourished for you,
Everlasting, your promises echoed in my body,
Tender memories kept me warm on the cold nights, as my
Heart refused to let go of a dream,
Even when you insisted it was over between us.
Away, you went, laughing and wooing another girl,
Repeating the same promises in a husky tone.
Trust me, my sweetheart, you will be mine alone.

Ode to the Empty Nest

The image is taken from Pixabay

Flying in the dark sky on a cold evening,
small wings fluttering against the wintry chill,
searching in vain for the warmth of the lost home;
bird's quest for a nest.

Vast empty land greets the tried bird from beneath,
neither a tree nor a brick shelter in sight,
hungry and desperate for a miracle;
the bird gave up flight.

Not so far away, a mother sat waiting,
hoping for the return of its young fledgling,
buried deep under the layers of fresh white snow;
the nest was empty.

The first star rose higher, spreading its magic,
the breeze nudging the brave one to destiny,
a shallow and a sparrow found each other;
the nest was happy.

Harley Quin

The image is taken from Pixabay

Sipping tea from my favorite Harlequin cup, I thought about the days in 1938. Popular as a narcissist, my life had more tears than laughter.
“Granny! We got daffodils for you.”
It was the twins, Harley and Quin.
They gifted me smiles and peace.

Ice in my Veins

Smiling like a star,
with ice in my veins.

Sparkling like a gem,
with ice in my veins.

Voice of an angel,
with ice in my veins.

Dressed like a doll,
with ice in my veins.

Skin smooth as satin,
with ice in my veins.

Laughing like a child,
with ice in my veins.

Moving like a temptress,
with ice in my veins.

Living like a queen,
with ice in my veins.

Alone among hundreds,
with ice in my veins.

No one to trust,
with ice in my veins.

Staring at the fake smiles,
with ice in my veins.

My heart froze long ago,
with ice in my veins.

Alive, but dead inside,
with ice in my veins.

What a life to live,
with ice in my veins!!!

The Tarantula

The image is taken from Pinterest.

Days became weeks
The fire continued to burn.

Weeks turned into months
Life refused to move on.

Months passed to years
The wait would be worth it.

She'd make sure to settle the score.

A life for a life-
The rule for the ordinary.

A life full of agony among love-
The rule of a tormented heart.

Oh! She knew she'd win;

The trap was laid
The bait was dangled.

The victim got snarled
This time was hers to play.

She danced with the grace of a tarantula.

Where is the Moon

Credits: Getty Images

Mother promised the moon when I was three.
Father swore I'd be a queen at five.
Sister taunted I was an orphan on my seventh birthday.
Mary pledged she wouldn't reveal my crush in school.
Stella stole my assignment she borrowed for copying.
Rick whispered I was his first love during prom dance.
Elle said I was to be an artist as the show flopped.
Kirk vowed we'd be together forever on our wedding day.
The doctor assured my child would survive in the womb.
My son agreed to take me home from the asylum.
I'm still waiting for the moon...
