Green and Black

The image is taken from Pixabay.

She ran to greet her tender saplings
The wind playing with her fiery curls
As her laughter echoing in the open fields.

She tripped over a broken pulley,
Tears streaming, as her plants vanished
Giving way to a shiny black road.

Paths connected; plants sacrificed.

Sevenling style poem.

  1. I guess this is becoming more common each day - we are sacrificing the environment for development

  2. Your poem tells of an all too common thing. 'Plants sacrificed' is an excellent way of putting it.
