Restored to Glory

Credit: Ratna Pochiraju

In full bloom again
The majestic tree stood tall
Green leaves shimmering
Nature flourished; splendorous
Humans stepped back to bow down

#####
Note: The poem is written in Tanka style- 5-7-5-7-7. There is something about Japanese forms and Nature that blend so well.

  1. Humans can do little but bow down before nature. Japanese poetry forms have enriched poetry a lot. Though personally I find it hard to pen.

  3. Nature is the ultimate teacher! From surviving the worst while cherishing the sweet dreams of tomorrow, its the nature that teaches perseverance, never say die attitude. And it is to this wisdom and power, we must bow.
Very thoughtful, positive poem. Loved the brevity!

Yes, Japanese poetic forms lend themselves to nature so seamlessly-- like they belong to each other.

    1. Thank you, Ira. It is a metaphor. Though I'd like that too, I'm not sure if we humans are capable of co-existing with Nature.
