City Life

The image is taken from Pixabay.

Heavy clouds floated
Sprinkling on the tiny blooms
Trying to lure me from the book

The screeching horns echoed
Competing with the neighbor's blaring radio
As I shooed away the creepy caterpillar

How does a recluse survive in a crowded city?

Sevenling style poem.

  1. I enjoyed the contrast in the city - she appears to have made her nest but it keeps getting interrupted which is I suppose, how cities work!

  2. I haven't tried one of these, but I liked your take, especially the first stanza, which painted the peaceful scene you intended.

  3. You set this up very nicely, and did a good job with the form. As a country girl now living in the city, I can definitely relate to this one!
